The Resilient Interview

Belle Jones: From Cameroon at 18 to Building a $25M Feminine Care Empire

18 Aug 2025

At just 18, Belle Jones left Cameroon for the United States, hopeful for a fresh start. But instead of a warm welcome, she was met with abandonment. The fiancé she was meant to reunite with disappeared, and Belle quickly found herself without a home, navigating a new country alone.

“I slept on friends’ floors, worked odd jobs, and faced the harsh reality of being abandoned in a new country,” she recalls. “But I surrounded myself with positive people, focused on what I could do, and refused to let anyone’s negativity hold me back.”

This determination became the blueprint for how she would navigate every challenge that followed. Years later, while dealing with personal discomfort caused by traditional feminine hygiene products, Belle had a breakthrough: she saw an unmet need for more natural, effective solutions tailored to women like her.

“The idea came to me after experiencing issues with conventional products and realizing there was a need for better, more natural options for women,” she shares. With nothing but two products and deep conviction, Belle launched Belle’s Secret in 2018.

What began as a personal solution evolved into a powerhouse brand. Today, Belle’s Secret employs over 50 people and is on track to earn $25 million in revenue this year. “I’m proud of building Belle’s Secret from the ground up, despite all the challenges,” she reflects. “Seeing my vision become a reality and knowing I’m helping women feel confident is incredibly rewarding.”

Her success hasn’t erased the memory of her early struggles, if anything, it fuels her. “Being an immigrant has made me resilient and adaptable. I’ve learned to find strength in adversity and to appreciate every small victory,” she explains. That experience now shapes how she leads, mentors, and makes room for others to rise.

For Belle, resilience isn’t just a mindset, it’s a lived practice. “It means never giving up, no matter how many times life knocks you down. It’s about staying true to your vision and believing in yourself, even when others don’t.”

Despite the spotlight on her success, she remains grounded. “My family and my faith. My mother’s words and the support of my husband have been my anchors,” Belle says. “Also, knowing that my story can inspire others to overcome their own challenges keeps me going.”

To fellow immigrants just starting out, Belle offers this: “Don’t be afraid to dream big and work hard. Surround yourself with people who believe in you and want to see you succeed. And most importantly, never let anyone’s negativity define your path.”

Her journey is proof that circumstances don’t dictate your future, mindset and action do. From sleeping on floors to building an eight-figure business, Belle Jones embodies the resilient immigrant spirit. As she puts it: “You have the power to create your own destiny.”
